Preston's Progress

Preston is doing fantastic. He is now two months old, and only 5lbs. 4 oz, but so active and alert! He was checked out by the endocrinologist and he is on the right amount of Synthroid to regulate his body. We've been into the cardiologist and Preston has a bicuspid valve but it is working fine and they'll continue to keep an eye on it. He is still on oxygen and probably will be for another 1 - 2 months until he can keep his saturation up to a good level. The Early Intervention Team came out to evaluate him and were quite impressed with his strength and abilities. They determined that he doesn't need physical or occupational therapy right now. He did start music therapy which he will be having once a week. It is so cute as she sings to him and moves his arms and legs to the music. She also does sign language with some of the songs and told me about some great things they'll be able to do as he gets older. She can also keep an eye out for if it becomes necessary for him to start PT/OT/ST. It feels good to get things taken care of and learn that things are going to be ok. He is such a little sweetie pie and it is exciting to see the things he is able to do...even if it is getting a death grip on his oxygen tube and refusing to let go. :)
