The Abandoned Balcony

When I got out of bed, Brian was working on job opportunities at the base. We decided to borrow some bikes from the villa and ride them into town. I was inspired again by the beauty of this villa.  They have some pumpkins on their old carriages.  This place is amazing.

We started at the base middle school which is actually in a different part of the city than the rest of the base. We ended up riding down beautiful streets and past a gorgeous old villa with a balcony.  It was breathtaking and looks totally abandoned. I had Brian ring the bell just to see if anyone was there to ask about the old building. It doesn't look as if anyone lives there, but it is gorgeous.

We found the middle school, and it looks like a lovely building. We went in and spoke with the assistant of operations. She was very helpful and said that I should look into renewing my teaching license and to also go over to the education center and ask about the colleges that might have teaching opportunities. We rode our bikes down to the main base and went to the USO to get a new map.  We went to several places. We went to the education office and met a nice lady named Elba. She is the person that we schedule the kids' exam with for school. She also works with the University of Maryland that teaches classes on the base. She said that they are looking for people to help with math and computer classes which Brian may be able to help with. She gave us the contact information for the supervisor who is in Naples.

We also needed to stop at the BX to pick up some MnMs for Hailey and some snacks. She needs the candy for her science class.  We tried to stop by the civilian personnel office, but it looked like a strange building that was all locked up. We went to the airman family readiness center which was very helpful. They have an employment office and the lady we spoke to told us about some other service members who were retired and here on tourist visas and were able to get a job. There is a job fair coming up next Tuesday, the day were scheduled to leave the villa. We need to talk to the owners of the villa and see if they will give us a discount for staying longer. Maybe until December to give us time to look more into these jobs. We left feeling that there is some hope.

We rode the bikes back to Bertasina on a very busy road, and my bum was hurting so bad. I was sure I had bruises.

I did a live Facebook with Teako about a doTERRA new oil, pink pepper. The kids ate some rice and then went to the youth activity. Brother Wilson was kind enough to pick them up and also drop them off at the end. The kids had some difficulties getting along at the activity, so when they got home we talked about how we could have better love for each other and letting things go. We had scriptures and I shared a chocolate and a hug with Courtney, and we went to bed.
